-

Naida was born August 1931, in Torrance California to Jeff and Blanche Barnes. When Naida was four the family moved to Lynwood, California. She went to school in Lynwood from grades K through High School. When she was 18, she met the love of her life, Joseph (Joe) Blaut. They were married June 18, 1950 and this was the start of their 51-year marriage. They had three sons, Steven Joseph, Joseph (Jay), and Andrew John.

In 1955 Joe became a fireman with the city of Vernon fire department. They moved to Norwalk, California at this time. Naida was a stay-athome mom and homemaker. They enjoyed camping and water skiing in the summers and all the boys learned to fish.

Naida loved to sew and had many hobbies. Her last and most ambitious was working with stained glass. In her 40’s she went to beauty college and became a hairdresser. She worked for five years until Joe retired in 1980.

When they retired, they moved to Baja, Mexico, spending summers in Ensenada and winters in Mulege. They spent their days fishing in the Sea of Cortez, making new friends and just enjoying their retirement. They moved back to the states in 1990 and bought a home in Oroville, California.

Thier first grandson, Daniel Kyle, was born in 1990. A second grandson Joseph Robert was born in 1996.

Joe and Naida volunteered at their local visitor center for 10 years and Naida became highly active with the altar Society at St. Thomas the Apostle. Naida loved people and made many new friends in Oroville. Joe passed away in 2001 and Naida continue to live in Oroville. She traveled with friends and remained active in her church.

In 2016 she moved to assisted living at the Atascadero Christian Home and to be near her eldest son Steve and wife Janet. Naida always told her friends how proud she was of her husband, three sons and two grandsons. They were the most important part of her life.
