Bottled water available for homes with dry wells

ORLAND >> Glenn County provided bottled drinking water to 60 families last week during its first bottled water distributi­on event. Water was provided to residents impacted by dry wells resulting from the current drought. Glenn County Planning and Community Developmen­t Department has received 105 well incident reports from residents throughout the county. Additional bottled water distributi­on events have been scheduled.

Bottled Water Distributi­on Events:

• Orland Fire Department, rear parking lot/bays Wednesday, July 21 from 4-7 p.m. and Wednesday, July 28 from 4-6 p.m.

• Elk Creek High School Football Field on Friday, July 23, from 6-8 p.m.

This event will take place during the annual Fire Awareness and Ice Cream Social Event. Come to the Sheriff's Office — OES/SAR booth for water pickup.

Each event will be limited by supplies available; limit 10 cases per household.

Residents must complete a Glenn County Dry Well report either online at www.countyofgl­enn.net/Drought select Dry Well Reporting; by phone, call the Glenn County Planning and Community Developmen­t Department at 934-6540; or in person at the bottled water distributi­on events.

Please do not bring donations to the water distributi­on sites. Although we appreciate the donations of goods and supplies, it is very difficult to manage and distribute donations at this time.
