The Butte Creek Women’s Golf Club held an individual net stroke-play tournament for its weekly outing.

The Paradise Golf Club held its monthly tournament at Table Mountain.

Canyon Oaks CC
The Canyon Oaks Women’s Club played a game called CrissCross for its weekly game. The
best scores on either one or ten, two or eleven, etc., were counted and the players subtracted onehalf their handicap. Low gross: Linda Allen, 87. Low net: Melinda Self, 66. The women’s club also had a Christmas in July game wherein the worst three scores could revert back to par. In addition, they awarded low gross and low net on both the front and back nine. Overall low gross: Shelley Carney, 81. Karen Olson was overall low net with a 67.

Drive, Chip and Putt
I unintentionally omitted one amazing qualifier from my report on the National Drive, Chip and Putt local qualifying competition. Teal Hamman qualified in the girls’ 10-11 age division.
Her amazing drive of 258 yards no doubt propelled her into second place. In addition to this amazing feat, the very same day she led her softball team to win the state championship, pitching an incredible no-hitter and hitting a triple and a double, which also probably contributed to their win. My apologies for missing you on the first go round, Teal!
Junior Golf
Tommy Ma took first in the 12- to 13-year-old division in a two-day, Junior
Golf of Northern California sanctioned tournament at Del Rio CC in Modesto last week. Hyunhu Na finished second in the same division of that tournament. Andrew Ma finished fourth at the same tournament in the 14-15 year-old division. Amy Na took first at Del Rio in the girls 15- to 18 year-old division.
The following day, The First Tee held a tournament at Peach Tree Country Club. Tommy Ma and Hyunhu Na tied for third place and Amy Na finished second in her division. Amy has qualified for the Girls’ Junior America Cup representing Northern California in Idaho, July 18-20.
