Linda Furr and Scott Huber’s compelling letters, found in last Wednesday’s (7/14)

E-R, correctly describe the total abortion Sean Morgan and his conservati­ve council cohorts created at the airport — strange, I thought conservati­ves were opposed to abortions. And the two excellent series run by the E-R showed both the diversity of situations that can lead to homelessne­ss and disproved the two lies Morgan and Safe Chico use to justify their approach: “Word is out, and homeless come here from all over for the great handouts.”

Even more shocking than the actual “resting area” they designed is how they effectivel­y “spit in the face” of

Judge England; I hope His Honor is a tolerant man.

Perhaps court-ordered negotiatio­ns will result in real attempted solutions; expertise is certainly available. Every citizen of Chico should be revolted and embarrasse­d by what Kommandant Morgan has done in the name of our city and ponder it every day (ala kids-in-cages) until the first election at which he and his Safe Chico majority can be voted out of office, for they have shown themselves unbelievab­ly heartless in true Trumpian ‘Cruelty is the point’ manner, derelict for carelessly risking Chico’s budgetary future in a predictabl­e federal civil rights lawsuit and lastly, lacking in critical-thinkingsk­ills for falling in-line behind Morgan’s plan.

Secondly: I ask every interested citizen who speaks before the city council on this topic, request members of the Safe Chico caucus assume full and complete legal and financial responsibi­lity for any legal judgment resulting from their actions.
