City to consider employment amendments
Oroville City Council will consider amendments to the employment agreements for Code Enforcement Director Ron Belser, Assistant City Administrator Ruth Wright, Assistant Community Development Director Dawn Nevers and Business Assistance and Housing Development Manager Amy Bergstrand.
The council will also discuss transferring funds from the utility assistance program to Wyandotte Academy improvements and increasing the scope of work.
The City Council will also consider approving the creation of an annual award to honor outstanding achievements in Oroville’s historic revitalization, which will be conducted by the Oroville Historic Advisory Commission and will include creating an inventory of current and potential sites. The council could approve the Historic Preservation Award Program of The City of Oroville Historic Advisory Commission.
The Council will consider passing a resolution relating to the city’s regulations of fences, walls, and screening referencing maximum allowed heights, placement, and other changes necessary to protect the city’s general health, safety, and public welfare.
The Council will ponder the reassignment of the Master Disposition and Development Agreement for the development of the Gateway Project. The recommendation is to allow the council to authorize and direct the Mayor to complete a deal to reassign a development agreement with Snyder commercial real estate to develop the Gateway project.
According to the Oroville city website, the Gateway project area is bordered on the West by Highway 70, Feather River on the North, Montgomery Street on the South and Feather River Boulevard on the East. The project area is easily one of the most highly visible sites within the city but has been a uniquely challenged redevelopment project area because of the 1.37-acre privately owned property along Montgomery Street and Feather River Boulevard.
