Finance documents out for candidates
The Butte County Elections Office has released the latest financial documents regarding each of the supervisor candidates from April 24 through May 21.
District 2 incumbent Debra Lucero once again raised the most money in her race against challengers Peter Durfee and Carl Jefferies with her total monetary donations since Jan. 1 being $72,076.15. Durfee has received the second most monetary donations at $57,274.99.
Both Lucero and Durfee received funding from a handful of Political Action Committees but the majority of donors were independent.
Jefferies has not met the threshold needed to turn in the finance documentation to the elections department.
In the District 3 race, incumbent Tami Ritter has raised $17,325 for her campaign whereas her challenger, Mary Murphy-Waldorf has brought in slightly more at $18,502.41.
The supervisor candidates are on the ballet for the June 7, 2022 election.
Debra Lucero
Lucero has raised the most through contributions with her total amount since the beginning of the year coming out to $72,076.15. Of that sum, $34,926.55 was raised in the latest reporting period.
Additionally, Lucero’s campaign has taken out $10,500 in loans.
The election committee behind Lucero has spent $27,438.19 during the most recent reporting period and a total of $45,587.63 since Jan. 1.
Larger donations came from Political Action Committees such as Service Employees International Union which donated $4,084 and the Laborers Local PAC which donated $1,000. Lucero’s campaign also received $2,698.31 from San Francisco company Square, totaling the business’s donations at $3,233.61.
Chico-based company Golden Pacific Homes contributed $1,500 to Lucero’s campaign.
As for individual donors, the largest contribution came from Marilyn Rees ($1,100) and Robert McCollum ($1,000).

Ritter has received $7,413 in monetary donations during the recent reporting period with the total since Jan. 1 being $17,325. Ritter’s campaign has taken out $8,673.46 in loans but not from the latest period.
In total, Ritter has spent $5,205.12 on her campaign but has no unpaid bills.
Like Lucero, Ritter received $1,000 from the Laborer’s Local PAC, but that was the only PAC that donated to Ritter’s campaign during the latest reporting period.

As far as payments go, Durfee’s campaign spent $53,531.62 this period and has outstanding bills totaling $2,204.67.
Durfee’s largest contributors were political action committees. The California Correctional Peace Officers Association Local PAC provided Durfee with $4,900 while the Cal Fire Local Small Contributor PAC donated $4,500 and the Operating Engineers Local Union PAC gave $1,000.
Independent donor Jerry Pajour contributed $2,500.
