Oroville City Council approves several resolutions
Oroville City Council voted on a series of resolutions Tuesday.
Oroville City Council members voted 6-0 (Councilor Scott Thomson was absent) to adopt a contract for investigative services with the Butte County District Attorney’s office in an amount not to exceed $400,000 annually. The council voted to sign a contract for investigative services for specific child abuse cases.
The council also voted 6-0 to draft a letter of support to the federal energy regulatory commission regarding the Oroville Dam relicensing. The council will consider a letter to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission asking to require the renegotiation or addendums be added to the original agreement prior to the relicensing of the Oroville Dam.
The council voted 6-0 to purchase certificates of deposits in accordance with the city’s investment policy. Approval was reached to purchase $10 million n certificates of deposit.
The council also voted 6-0 to authorize modifications to the combined Community Development Block and Home Investment Partnership Program homebuyer program guideline. The council conducted a public hearing to solicit comments regarding requested modifications to the combined CDBG/HOME Homebuyer Program Guidelines and CalHome Mortgage Assistance Guidelines.
The staff recommended that the city council adopt a resolution updating and establishing user and regulatory fees. The council voted 6-0 to adjust and establish user and regulatory fees.
The council voted 6-0 to make sure the levees in and around the Oroville area are safe. Oroville Police Chief and Interim City Administrator Bill LaGrone emphasized the need, noting there are public safety and evacuation concerns. Sutter Butte Flood Control agency gave a presentation.
The next meeting of the Oroville City Council takes place March 7 at 4:30 p.m. at the Oroville Public Safety Building located at 2055 Lincoln St.
