Tomfoolery
“It's been a part of the community for 40 years and people are so glad it's not closing,” Cramer said. “People went to college in Chico and now have been coming back as 30 or 40 year olds. It's a Chico staple.”
Cramer said purses and leather products are among the most popular at the store, which continues to sell a wide mix of gifts.
“We have 3D puzzles that light up. We also have barware which sells very well. I just ordered a whole new selection of funny greeting
cards. People said I remember getting greeting cards here,” she said.
Another part of Cramer and Hartley's job is to provide solar for residential houses. They are turning the back room of the store into an office so they can provide solar quotes for customers.
Right now it's just these two ladies hard at work, but they might hire employees in the future.
Besides a new logo, website and products for Tomfoolery, they will host private shopping events with live music, game and puzzle workshops and local delivery. Hartley and Cramer are also working with local artists who can display their work in the store.
Cramer and Hartley plan to have monthly events including “meet the artist” days where the community can meet local artists who have their art in the store year round.
