THOMIE LEE HOGAN

-

Thomie Lee Hogan II, 59, beloved father, brother, and friend passed away, on February 11, 2023, peacefully, at his home. He was born to Tom and Ivydell “Bunny” Hogan, on November 28th 1963, in Chico, California. Thomie Hogan, fondly known as Tom, was a lifelong Chico resident. Tom was a heavy equipment operator, like his father, who owned Hogan’s Backhoe Service. Tom spent most of his life on the backhoe and loved every minute of it.

Tom was known for his good sense of humor, love of music and dancing, his ability to make you laugh and make others feel happy. He enjoyed spending his free time with his family watching a 49er game or Nascar and hanging out by the creek. From singing fun songs, to telling hilariously, inappropriate jokes, to letting you know how proud he is of you, Tom’s positive impacts to our family, friends and community, will be missed. His favorite role in life was being a father and a family man. In his memory, Tom’s daughters encourage friends and family to continue to sing the song that their father would sing to them their entire lives, “You are my Sunshine” and to also continue to use the ASL sign, I love you.

Tom is survived by his three daughters, Cheryl Hogan, Christina HoganVasquez and Rebekah Hogan, his eight grandchildren, Camilo, Caleb, Layla, Lilly, Aleigha, Bryce, Mariah and Harlowe.

He is also survived by his seven sisters, Linda, Gloria, Terri, Barbara, Bridgett, Mary and Sandy, as well as, his one brother, Bud. He was proceeded in death by his father, Tom, mother, Ivydell and sister, Peggy. Tom had many cousins, nieces and nephews whom he loved deeply and was very close to. In the words of Tom, “So long” because goodbye meant that he wasn’t going to see you again. In lieu of flowers or donations, please help a family member in need, in his honor. A celebration of Tom’s life will take place at a later date.
