The Oroville City Council will review city finances and consider several projects per the agenda for Tuesday afternoon's meeting.

Other items include a goal-setting workshop and a new committee for the library.

The mid-year financial report, covering July through December of 2022, indicates the city received 47% of $22.5 million in anticipated revenue into the general fund over that period while spending 31% of its $23.2 million budget. The breakdown for sales tax funding is 36% collected (of $7.8 million expected) and 37% spent (of $10.3 million budgeted).

Councilors will determine whether to approve minor line-item changes recommended by city staff.

The council also will weigh two projects, rehabilitation of Bedrock Lagoon and fencing at Sank Park. Improvements at Bedrock Lagoon would come via a partnership with the state Department of Water Resources to boost habitat for salmonids in the Feather River; the request is $100,000 plus a 20% contingency. Councilors will view plans for Sank Park and provide direction on spending limit.

With the Goals and Priorities Workshop set for the city to receive input from the public and partners, councilors will draft the format. They also will appoint two of their own to a Butte County committee established to explore long-term funding options for the library.

Other items of note include:

• Reports on the Housing

Successor Agency and Housing Element.

• A resolution to declare the Ehmann Home a historical landmark.

• A city committee on rebranding.

The Oroville City Council meets the first and third Tuesday of the month at 4:30 p.m. at the Oroville City Council Chambers at 1735 Montgomery St. Closed session starts at 4. Meetings are free, open to the public and are also streamed on Zoom and YouTube. The council agenda and links to live feeds can be found at www.cityoforoville.org.
