More clipping advice

In addition to Susan Harris’s excellent advice on acclimating a horse to clippers (“Aversion to Clippers,” Consultants, EQUUS 446), I would suggest that when the owner does start to clip her mare, it will help if she starts by approaching the shoulder area and lower neck.
