Manual mosquito control

Here in the South, we always have mosquito larvae in our troughs, but I’m nervous about putting chemicals in the water, and we’re in a drought so dumping the water daily feels wasteful (“No Creature Comforts,” EQUUS 457). To manage the problem, I bought a pool skimmer and just swish it through the water in the troughs daily. I am amazed at the number of little mosquito larvae I can pull out and flick to the ground in just seconds. Katy Roberts Georgetown, Texas
