A point to emphasize

EQUUS - - Eq Letters -

Recently, EQUUS published a timely and fact-filled article regarding equine influenza virus (“The Fight Against Equine Influenza,” EQUUS 465).

We would like to make a point of clarification regarding one of the quotes contained in the article that may have led one to conclude that modified live influenza vaccines are not safe for use in horses. Modified live influenza vaccines in the marketplace today are safe for use in the horse for export as well as domestic use. Meg Green, DVM Manager of equine and large animal veterinary services Merial, Inc.
