MORGANS AT WORK

The oldest photographs of Morgan horses date to the Civil War decade of the 1860s. A number of Union cavalry officers were photographed on their handsome chargers, which, then and now, can be mistaken for no other breed. This is Maj. Gen. McCook in the field in July 1864.
