This photo of Comanche, who belonged to Capt. Myles Keogh (not Gen. George Custer, as commonly reported), was taken at Ft. Riley, Kansas, shortly after the Battle of the Little Bighorn in 1876. Comanche exemplifies Morgan type sought by U.S. government breeders and purchasers.
