THE IRON HORSE
Beautiful and powerful, Clabber exhibits a harmony of body parts rarely seen in any horse. He has excellent substance, very wellformed joints and near-level body balance suitable for almost any type of athletic effort.
Clabber’s sire, My Texas Dandy (this portrait, like all the others in this article, was done directly from a photo). A seven-eighths Thoroughbred, this horse presents the big, angular pelvis with long ischium typical of that breed; Clabber’s pelvis is similar. Typical of Thoroughbreds, too, are Dandy’s rather high knees and lighter “bone.” The short back, rounded body and overall muscularity come from his Billy-Rondo ancestry.
