Melinda Freckleton, DVM, is founder and operator of Firestar Veterinary Services, LLC, in Catlett, Virginia. A graduate from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University, she served on the 2012 equine committee for the Virginia Veterinary Medical Associatio­n Conference as well as the AAEP Task Force on Referral Guidelines and Ethics. Freckleton enjoys riding and competing in dressage and taking care of her dogs, cats and horses on her small farm.

Martha Mallicote, DVM, MBA, DACVIM, completed her undergradu­ate work at the College of Charleston, a Master’s of Business Administra­tion at University of Florida, and received her veterinary degree from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. Since then, she has worked in both ambulatory and referral hospital settings. In 2012, Mallicote completed her residency in large animal internal medicine at the University of Florida and joined the faculty.

Jonathan McLellan, BVMS (hons) MRCVS, Dip ACVSMR, graduated with honors from the University of Glasgow (UK) Veterinary School and undertook a surgical internship at FHB Equine Hospital in Ocala. He is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilita­tion, a Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, and an RCVS recognized specialist in equine sports medicine. He has a special interest in challengin­g lameness diagnostic­s and the rehabilita­tion of sports injuries.

Amelia S. Munsterman, DVM, MS, PhD, DACVS-LA, DACVECC, CVA, is an Associate Professor of Large Animal Surgery and Emergency Medicine at Michigan State University. She graduated from the University of MissouriCo­lumbia, College of Veterinary Medicine and completed both a residency in Large Animal Surgery and a master’s degree in biomedical sciences at Ohio State University. Munsterman received her doctorate in Large Animal Emergency and Critical Care at Auburn University. She is also certified in acupunctur­e and spinal manipulati­on with a master’s degree in Traditiona­l Chinese Veterinary Medicine.
