Bruce A. Connally, DVM, MS, is founder and operator of Wyoming Equine, an equine sports medicine practice that serves Colorado and central Wyoming. He earned his Master of Science in large-animal clinical sciences from Michigan State University and his veterinary degree from Colorado State University, where he also served as an assistant professor and a senior veterinari­an in the equine ambulatory section before leaving to start his current practice.

Peter Heidmann, DVM, MPH, DACVIM is the founder, Hospital Director and Head of Internal Medicine at Montana Equine, and the Head of Internal Medicine at Palm Beach Equine Clinic in Wellington Florida, where he works in the winter months. He is a BoardCerti­fied Expert in Large Animal Internal Medicine, with special emphasis on respirator­y and neurologic conditions as well as treatment and prevention of infectious diseases. He is Adjunct Faculty at Washington State University School of Veterinary Medicine in Pullman, and Affiliated Faculty at Montana State University, Bozeman.

Gulsah Kaya Karasu, DVM, received her veterinary degree from the University of Istanbul, Turkey, after working as an intern at the University of Liverpool Equine Hospital. She has studied Animal Nutrition and Nutritiona­l Disease at the Vienna Veterinary University in Austria and served as a nutrition advisor at the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in the Clinical Nutrition department. Currently, Kaya Karasu conducts research at the Van Hall Larenstein University in The Netherland­s, and advises horse owners in several countries on feeding and nutrition-related questions through her company, AGG Equine Nutrition Consulting.

Jennifer Williams, PhD, is the founder and Executive Director of Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society located in Waco, Texas, and the author of the book How to Start a Rescue. Williams received her Bachelor of Science in psychology and minor in equine science from Truman State University, formerly known as Northeast Missouri State University. Later Williams earned her master’s and doctorate in animal science from Texas A&M, where she focused her studies on equine behavior, learning and welfare.
