CONFORMATION INSIGHTS CASTING CALL
Calling all Saddlebred owners: As part of her ongoing series about America’s horse breeds, Deb Bennett, PhD, is embarking on an in-depth review of the history of this great American breed. There are plenty of images available showing Saddlebred show horses, but we know our readers enjoy theirs in many other ways. We’re looking for photos showing Saddlebreds being used for jumping, trail riding, endurance, barrel racing, dressage, pleasure driving or any other activity. We’re also particularly interested in conformation photos of Saddlebreds standing naturally—as a conformation hunter would be posed—rather than “stretched” or parked out. Dr. Deb would also love to receive images of the widest-bodied, most stout representatives of the breed. Along with photos, please share the names of the horse’s sire and dam and/or the pedigree, along with a short report on the horse’s training and activities. Information shared with Dr. Deb may appear in an upcoming installment of Conformation Insights. Email images and information to office@equinestudies.org.
