Easily Becoming One of the Country’s Largest Truck Gatherings

EVERY YEAR AS THE ICE STARTS TO THAW, there’s a “little” gathering of trucks from across the country that all converge centrally in Conroe, Texas. What’s now known simply as LST began quite a few years back with a couple hundred trucks hanging out in Texas at a little gathering called Lone Star Throwdown. Since then, the show has gained massive attention and has blown up to the point of almost 3,000 trucks, with pre-reg spots selling out months before hand. Per usual, we made the trek east from Southern California to hang with our buds and see the baddest trucks all gathered in one central locale, however we definitely weren’t prepared for the “storm of the century” that had swept the Midwest, leaving us caught in quite a few snowstorms and blizzards. Anyone that follows our wild journeys knows that we don’t throw in the towel easily, so we pushed on despite whiteout conditions with six trucks in tow. We came close to giving up quite a few times as it got pretty hairy, but we kept on. Luckily for us, we made it through safely and only a day late to still arrive for the weekend’s festivities.

The crew that puts on LST has quite the support system and it shows. Such a massive gathering of tens of thousands of people, thousands of rides, hundreds of massive vendors and the like would not be possible without all the badasses capable of organizing and keeping such mayhem in check. Easily one of our favorite shows of the year, there were a ton of high-quality F-100s to drool over, and quite a few nice debut trucks. Classic trucks are continuing to gain popularity and you know we aren’t complaining about that! See you out there next year, hopefully minus the insane weather and drive.

(Editor’s Note: Even though we totally spaced getting our sticker on the FLO-100, we still had a great time! Ha ha! Love ya, Lonnie!!)
