Annual Event Draws More Than 2,100 Vehicles
TTHE 2021 GOODGUYS LMC TRUCK SPRING Lone Star Nationals event kicked off the beginning of the show season with a bang. Last year at this time, the Goodguys event in Fort Worth, Texas, was just getting ready to start off when they got word that they had to send all of the vendors home and the show had to be cancelled due to the coronavirus lockdown.
Fast forward to this year, and we can start off by saying that there were more than 2,100 registered vehicles and trucks—not to mention we had perfect weather all three days despite a few threatening rain clouds! The folks turned out in droves.
During the truck show, there was something for everybody. To start off, a disk jockey was spinning tunes all three days. And you had a huge number of activities, such as the CPP Autocross, the Nitro Thunderfest, the burnout contest and, of course, the swap meet. And, for the folks who had registered vehicles, there was the LMC night track cruise, where you could take your truck around the track for a victory lap or two. It was both thrilling and awesome to watch these trucks fly around the track.
Trucks of all kinds were in attendance: Dodge, Chevy, International and especially the
Fords. In the Ford category of custom trucks, practically every size and stance known to man was on display. There were, of course, stock trucks, but lowered and lifted trucks were well represented as well. In addition, the trucks came in every color imaginable, as well as more than a few in patina.
An interesting note is that Goodguys announced that it will introduce a third show, on June 4-6, in addition to the already scheduled shows. It’s going to be a hot one for sure, but we Texans can handle that. All in all, it’s a great event that was hugely successful by anyone’s measure!
