Once the kid­dos have their blender ba­sics down, try one of these three fun ideas to­gether. You’ll soon learn that this ap­pli­ance is great for so much more than just smooth­ies!

Blend 1 egg, 1 egg white, 1½ cups plain yo­gurt, and 3 Tbs. oil un­til smooth. Add 1 cup flour, ¼ cup sugar, 1½ tsp. bak­ing pow­der, and ¼ tsp. each bak­ing soda and salt. Blend. Stir in 1 cup rolled oats. Cook in a skil­let for about 2 min­utes per side. Top with syrup!


Mix 3 cups cold wa­ter, 1 cup lemon juice, and ¾ cup sugar. Pour half a 16-oz. can of peaches into a blender and add half the lemon­ade mix­ture. Cover and blend un­til smooth. Pour into a pitcher; set aside. Re­peat with re­main­ing peaches and lemon­ade. Serve chilled.


Blend 1 peeled and sliced ba­nana, ½ cup lemon yo­gurt, 1 Tbs. sugar, and 1 tsp. lemon juice un­til smooth. Trans­fer into a small bowl, then cover and chill for up to 2 hours. Serve with fresh fruit such as pa­paya, ba­nanas, or straw­ber­ries. What a treat!
