As if deal­ing with his mom’s death wasn’t hard enough, Sean had to ad­just to a new home and new school. It was a lot to han­dle, so he strug­gled emo­tion­ally and aca­dem­i­cally. Lee from Com­mu­ni­ties In Schools helped Sean de­velop cop­ing skills by find­ing pos­i­tive out­lets for his feel­ings. As his at­ti­tude im­proved, his grades fol­lowed—go­ing from D’s to B’s.
