Tin twinklers

“I’m always looking for costsavvy crafts since supplies can get pricey,” says Patty Bontekoe, FIRST deputy editor. “My latest idea: lantern cans. To make, I fill an empty can with water and pop in the freezer for two hours. Next, I rest the can on its side and punch holes in it with a hammer and nail to create my designs, then invert the can in a bowl until the ice melts. Finally, I pat the can dry, add a coat of spray paint and insert a tea light—easy and pretty!”
