The daily sip that reduces blood pressure

-

Caffeine not only provides a jolt to your morning, it can also fight inflammation linked to 90 percent of age-related conditions like hypertension and heart disease, say scientists in the journal Nature Medicine. In their study, coffee drinkers had the lowest levels of a known blood marker for inflammation and were nearly 7 times less likely to have high blood pressure than non-coffee drinkers. Why? Caffeine seems to switch off activity in inflammatory genes and relaxes arteries to lower blood pressure. Reductions in blood pressure have been seen from drinking 1 to 2 cups daily.
