“I’m very connected to my nose. I can smell anything, and scents affect my emotions and feelings a lot. It’s a curse and a blessing, but it can be helpful for me,” shares Kristina, who relies on lavender to soothe frazzled nerves and citrus fragrances to increase energy. “I use peppermint at bedtime. I’ve suffered with sleep problems ever since high school, but peppermint makes me feel clean. I like to feel clean when I go to bed—I usually take a bath at bedtime. There’s something comforting in going to bed and getting under the sheets when you’re clean.”
