Natural way to fight aging
Just 10 minutes of exercise a day can reverse the trend of frailty that comes with age, say scientists in the Journal of Gerontology. In an animal study, when older sedentary mice (the human equivalent of age 65) began exercising on a treadmill for 10 minutes per day, doing a 3-minute warm-up, then alternating 1 minute of running with 1 minute of lower-intensity exercise, they had a 107 percent improvement in walking speed after 16 weeks. Also, 67 percent of mice that had previously been considered frail reversed their condition. The authors say interval training provides a good workout without overexertion, and humans have been shown to benefit from a similar routine.
