To remove stains from a glass stove top without pricey cleaners, make a paste of 3 Tbs. of baking soda and 1 Tbs. of water; spread over the surface. Lay a warm, damp rag on top, let sit 30 minutes, then wipe off the paste. The mildly abrasive alkaline baking soda will cut through the mess.
