6 new easy-care cut and color combos that boost volume
How it flatters: The rounded silhouette of a heavily layered pixie visually plumps up hair while a full fringe that blends into the sides camouflages any thinning at the temples, says hairstylist Stefani Annaliese of New York City’s Préma Salon, who tailored Vicki’s cut. The style looks especially striking with a silvery hue that adds vibrance to dulling grays, says Jenna Mast, the Préma colorist who brightened Vicki’s locks.
Get the look: Ask your stylist for an earlength pixie with stacked layers and blended side bangs. Then to neutralize yellow undertones and counteract “dirty” grays, apply a violet-based silver dye (Mast used Pavana ChromaSilk Vivids in Silver, RickysNYC.com) from roots to ends; rinse after 25 minutes.
