“When I want to make a sweet treat that will im­press a crowd, I turn to no-fuss puff pas­try,” says Ni­cole Aber, FIRST as­so­ciate food edi­tor. “To make, I start with a box of frozen puff pas­try from the su­per­mar­ket. I thaw the puff pas­try and cut each sheet into four squares, then prick with a fork and bake as di­rected. Next, I whip up a quick straw­berry sauce by mix­ing 1 lb. of straw­ber­ries and 1⁄4 cup of honey in a blender, sim­mer­ing for 10 min­utes over low heat and spoon­ing it over the golden pas­try squares. Fi­nally, I top it all with a scoop of straw­berry ice cream and berries for an ir­re­sistible spring treat that earns rave reviews.”
