Raw fruit and veg­eta­bles fos­ter a sun­nier out­look

This from re­searchers re­port­ing in the jour­nal Fron­tiers in Psy­chol­ogy. In their study of 400 par­tic­i­pants, those who con­sumed raw fruit and veg­eta­bles were 44% more likely to ex­pe­ri­ence pos­i­tive moods than those who ate cooked, canned or pro­cessed pro­duce. The likely rea­son, ac­cord­ing to the study au­thors: Cook­ing and high-heat pro­cess­ing de­grade nu­tri­ents that are crit­i­cal to bal­anc­ing the hor­monal sys­tems that gov­ern emo­tional well-be­ing.
