Eat­ing more of the foods that are sta­ples of the Mediter­ranean diet—like fish, beans, fruit, veg­eta­bles and olive oil—im­proves emo­tional well-be­ing by 69%, ac­cord­ing to re­searchers at Bing­ham­ton Univer­sity in New York. The in­ves­ti­ga­tors re­port that women who fol­low the Mediter­ranean food for­mula also ex­pe­ri­ence struc­tural changes in the brain that have been as­so­ci­ated with im­proved emo­tional sta­bil­ity.
