Last year, nearly 95% of Americans made resolutions to either save money or get healthier—and some resolved to do both. “Competition in the fitness field is great news for the consumer, and right now is the best time to save since so many gyms, trainers and companies want new business and offer big discounts,” says fitness pro Kecia Clarke, author of Fitness Is a Way of Life. “According to a study in the Journal of the American Heart Association, regularly working out saved participants up to $2,500 a year in medical costs.”
