Flu comes on quick, so it’s important that your immune system is strong enough to fight off infection. Dr. Ken Redcross, a board-certified physician in internal medicine, offers five tips

to keep your body working at its

optimum during peak flu season.

MOVE MORE

Exercise can support a healthy immune

system that can ward off viruses. Take care not to exceed your body’s limits which could cause physical and psychological stress, and talk with your doctor before starting any new exercise routine.

GET YOUR ZZZS

Get enough sleep to keep your body’s defenses strong and be mindful of how much sleep you are getting each night to stay rested. Adults need 7 to 8 hours of sleep, teens about 9 hours. Growing children need 10 to 12 hours of sleep daily.
