Over 11 months, both groups were exposed to noise loud enough to impair hearing. The finding: Mice fed the nutrient-rich diet experience­d 48% less hearing loss. The researcher­s say the nutrients counteract oxidative stress to safeguard hearing. To get the beneficial nutrients, experts advise eating spinach, broccoli and sweet potatoes.
