Rejuvenate with winter citrus
Vitamins A, C and E work in concert with magnesium to protect hearing. In an animal study, one group of mice was put on a diet rich in the nutrients; the other group was fed regular chow. Over 11 months, both groups were exposed to noise loud enough to impair hearing. The finding: Mice fed the nutrient-rich diet experienced 48% less hearing loss. The researchers say the nutrients counteract oxidative stress to safeguard hearing. To get the beneficial nutrients, experts advise eating spinach, broccoli and sweet potatoes.
