A sunny brunch to serve up smiles

Welcome everyone to a bright weekend spread bursting with happy hues and no-fuss flair

Wow your guests with a “bouquet” on a tray

Popping just-cut blooms into a cluster of classic tumblers beautifies any tabletop—for pennies! To do: Wrap a wood cutting board in coral gift wrap, then set nine water-filled glasses on top. Stir a drop or two of red food dye into a few glasses to tint the water pink. Snip zinnia and handfuls of various wildflowers to 4" to 6", then arrange them in the glasses.

Grace each plate with fresh-picked pizzazz

A lovely lemon plate topper adds a hit of happy to each place setting! To do: Cut a small slit down the middle of a lemon. Snip an orchid stem to 2". Wrap the stem with a wet paper towel, then cover with plastic wrap to keep the orchid hydrated. To finish, insert the stem into the sliced lemon and nestle it in a bright bowl.

Set the mood for joy with a summertime scene

The key to creating a laid-back yet lively outdoor brunch that’s bursting with sunny color: showcasing splashes of citrus and coral—Pantone’s 2019 Color of the Year!— with simple dinnerware and so-easy flourishes. Here, a picnic table is topped with a coral runner, mismatched bowls and plates and shiny glassware. Popping coral candles into jars and topping chairs with plush pink pillows furthers the feel-good style. The wow-worthy flair: a vibrant burst of orange party-store lanterns affixed to a tree or awning for a fun overhead focal point.

Add ambiance with floral-kissed twinklers

All it takes is some ribbon, a few blossoms and a trio of pillar candles to create a chic candlescape. To do: For each, wrap a 20" length of ribbon around a battery-operated pillar candle and tie into a bow. Use hot-glue or a peel-and-stick glue dot to attach a bloom to the candle.

Offer pops of pretty with dressed-up drinks

Paper posies and fresh fruit take glasses of water from ordinary to wow-worthy! To do: For each, cut a flower shape from pink cardstock and affix to a straw using double-sided tape. Cut two small circles from yellow and pink cardstock, glue circles together, then cut slits to form fringe; glue to flower’s center. Pop straws into glass and add fruit.
