Curry wards off stomach cancer
Spicing up meals with curry or turmeric, which contain a vibrant pigment called curcumin, safeguards against stomach cancer. According to the World Health Organization, stomach cancer is the third leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide, primarily impacting those over age 60. But Brazilian researchers publishing in the journal Epigenomics revealed that curcumin both suppresses cancer cell growth and induces cancer cell death. Credit goes to the compound’s unique antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, which help neutralize harmful free radicals within the gut.
