Re-adhere a vinyl floor tile

Eek! You notice the corner of one of the tiles is sticking up, and you worry someone could trip on it. The easy, affordable fix: Place a sheet of protective aluminum foil over the curled end, then press a hot iron on the foil. Hold against the floor for a few seconds. The iron’s heat reactivates the glue on the self-adhesive tile, so pressing on it will cause it to stick back into place.
