Hungry, hungry hippos

Nantong, China—These playful hippos at Nantong Forest Wildlife Park love to turn snack time into a game. On a rather toasty day, keepers decided to give the nearly 4,000-pound mammals a surprise by tossing halved watermelons into their exhibit’s pool. The pair floated nearby, mouths open, hoping to get the first bite on the treats. Once they munched on the cool fruit, the hungry duo had a blast diving to the bottom of the water for the leftovers and tossing them back and forth to each other.
