COVID COMBATER: Daily dose of vitamin D
“Because I live in the Northeast, where it’s not terribly sunny, I had my vitamin D level checked,” Dr. Jen says. “And I learned that, like many women in their 50s, I was borderline low. So since the pandemic began, I’ve been taking 1,000 IU of vitamin D-3 every day. Research suggests an association between low levels of vitamin D and respiratory health issues, so it’s become part of my own COVID practice to take it daily. Just knowing I’m taking care of myself in that small way makes me feel great!”
