Fit for a princess

“After I became a widow, I knew it was time to downsize, so I started looking for a smaller house. But deep down, I worried if I’d ever find a place that felt like home. When my 6-year-old granddaughter, Hailey, overheard me complaining about it to my daughter one day, she gave me a hug and told me not to worry. ‘Just remember you’re a princess and your castle is waiting,’ she insisted.

“Silly as it felt, while scouting the very first home with my realtor, I silently chanted Hailey’s words. I couldn’t believe my eyes when we pulled onto a street called Regal Lane. The second surprise came when I toured the house and saw one of the bedrooms had been decorated all in pink with a castle painted on the wall and a princess bed.

“My realtor was puzzled as I burst into tears. Calling Hailey, I said, ‘You were right. I found my castle, and I think you’re going to love it!’”
