On a countertop: A happy hyacinth duo

-

“A lovely pair of hyacinth pots with textural grapevine collars adds a natural touch and great interest to any countertop,” says Ziegler. To make each pot, carefully wrap a short clear vase with a cut-to-fit piece of green chicken wire; use snips of floral wire to connect the chicken wire ends where they meet. Line vase with craft-store moss, then drop in a plastic-potted hyacinth or grape hyacinth plant.

Cover top of soil with moss and slip a small grapevine wreath over the blooms; rest the wreath on top of the vase. Display two finished vases on a tray, give bright light and water when soil begins to dry.
