Prolong the life of a wood cutting board

The wooden cutting board you use for chopping up vegetables is starting to look dry and dingy. Instead of shelling out for a new one, simply give your board a refresh with coconut oil. To do: Wash the board as usual, then use a clean cloth to smear a dollop of coconut oil into the wood. The oil will help fill in tiny crevices to prevent water from entering the wood and causing the board to crack or split. Plus, the antibacter­ial properties of the oil will ensure the board stays sanitary. Repeat the process every few weeks as needed.
