Drinking enough water keeps our body functionin­g optimally, and now a new survey has found a surprising perk to staying hydrated.

Data gathered from 2,000 Americans found that those who drank at least six glasses daily were not only less tired through the week but were significan­tly happier and more optimistic. Previous research has shown that drinking water increases the flow of blood and oxygen to the brain, improving concentrat­ion and memory and helping to keep energy, mood and emotions balanced to fend off depression and anxiety.
