3 were 70% less hungry than those who didn’t eat and 65% less hungry than those who had a granola bar; plus, they were still notably less hungry than these other groups 6 hours later. Researcher­s also noted that those who ate hummus ate up to 200 fewer calories later in the day. The study authors say chickpeas used to make the Middle Eastern dip are rich in slowdigest­ing carbs, which increase satiety by boosting the production of hunger-dampening hormones.
