Discourage a pup’s mounting habit

-

It’s so embarrassing how your sweet pal sometimes tries to mount other pets or people—and commanding him to stop only seems to make matters worse! According to trainers, this quirk could be the result of anxiety or excitement, and raising your voice only provokes him further. Instead, next time he starts to climb up on another pet or person’s leg, make a noise by clapping your hands right before you pick up one of his toys. Walk away so he’ll follow, then praise him with the toy. He’ll learn he gets a reward for stopping and will halt the antics whenever you clap.
