I AM OFFICIALLY OBSESSED. I know this to be true because on a recent vacation, I dragged my family deep into the outskirts of the cute resort town we were staying in. I was in hot pursuit of a cool secondhand shop I’d read about. We trudged uphill in the blazing sun, only to discover the store had shuttered a few months back. I felt so bad; my droopy children had come so far. To my surprise, no one was angry. “It’s OK, Mommy,” my daughter sighed, though she did accept the offer of a piggyback. “Maybe we can find you a thrift shop in town?” my husband offered. My family tolerates my urge to hunt through every flea market, garage sale, junk shop and antiques mall because they know how happy it makes me. And because I’m a bit wild-eyed once I get junkin’ and there is no way to stop me. I suspect you can relate to this. It’s why I’m so thrilled to be the editor of this magazine.
