I AM OF­FI­CIALLY OB­SESSED. I know this to be true be­cause on a re­cent va­ca­tion, I dragged my fam­ily deep into the out­skirts of the cute re­sort town we were stay­ing in. I was in hot pur­suit of a cool sec­ond­hand shop I’d read about. We trudged up­hill in the blaz­ing sun, only to dis­cover the store had shut­tered a few months back. I felt so bad; my droopy chil­dren had come so far. To my sur­prise, no one was an­gry. “It’s OK, Mommy,” my daugh­ter sighed, though she did ac­cept the of­fer of a pig­gy­back. “Maybe we can find you a thrift shop in town?” my hus­band of­fered. My fam­ily tol­er­ates my urge to hunt through ev­ery flea mar­ket, garage sale, junk shop and an­tiques mall be­cause they know how happy it makes me. And be­cause I’m a bit wild-eyed once I get junkin’ and there is no way to stop me. I sus­pect you can re­late to this. It’s why I’m so thrilled to be the edi­tor of this magazine. Mar­ket Dé­cor has had a bit of a makeover, thanks to our new art di­rec­tor, the tal­ented Elena Oh. We’ve fresh­ened things up, and made in­for­ma­tion eas­ier to read and to find.
