About this Hobby Master model: Six Lockheed F-35As from the 344th FS/388th FW based at Hill AFB, Utah, landed at RAF Lakenheath, England, on April 15, 2017. The USAF F-35As had been air-refueled by Air Mobility Command and the RAF 100th Air Refueling Wing that, combined, off-loaded 400,000 pounds of fuel, making this trip possible and making it the first operational deployment for the USAF F-35As. One of the six aircraft (F-35A 14-5097) used the call sign “Atlas 23.” The F-35As remained in England for almost a month to conduct air training with other units.
