Cirrus Aircraft recently christened its new customer delivery center in Knoxville, Tennessee

Cirrus Aircraft recently christened its new customer delivery center in Knoxville, Tennessee, and with it comes a whole new way of taking delivery of an airplane. This SR22 GTS was destined for a customer in the Czech Republic when we visited to try out the new Vision Jet full-flight simulator, see the just-opened factory service center and experience what it means when Cirrus execs say they don’t want to operate a great company, they want to be truly world-class. For each delivery, the owner is whisked into the hangar in an Audi Q7 SUV, where a red carpet leads to the airplane as music plays and spotlights home in on the main attraction. During training, which in the SR22 usually lasts three to five days, customers are treated to some incredible Southern hospitality. Look for a full report in an upcoming issue.
