$70M of Fake Jordans Smuggled Into US
Five individuals were charged in New York last week for allegedly smuggling over $70 million worth of counterfeit Air Jordan sneakers into the tri-state area, dating back to 2016. According to a report by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, the accused imported an estimated 380,000 pairs from China. Once the look-alike shoes arrived to Queens and Brooklyn, logos were reportedly applied before hitting the streets for sale.
